On last weekend (6 November 2010) a number of portable cooking stoves, using gas cartridge, donated by ICRC Regional Delegation, Bangkok were delivered to the Thai Red Cross Society for distribution to flood victims in areas where the level of water is still high and the affected people have hardship in carrying out normal life.
The donation of 1,000 sets of gas stoves, as well as 3,000 extra butane gas cartridges, will be most useful to the affected people particularly families with small children and elderly stranded on upper floors and roof tops in the high flood areas. The stoves will be distributed along with Thai Red Cross relief bags containing food, water, medicines and other essential goods.
The Thai Red Cross Society appreciated very much the prompt response of the ICRC Regional Delegation in Bangkok and its continuous support extended to Thai Red Cross relief activities.
